Connecting your Amazon Advertising account
Connecting your Amazon Advertising account is the first step after subscribing to a full-suite plan. This guide walks you through the OAuth flow, the account picker, and the waiting screen that loads your initial data — typically in about four minutes.
Note: You need an active 1smart.link subscription to a full-suite plan (Monthly, Quarterly, or Annual) before you can connect. You also need an Amazon Advertising account with at least one active advertising profile. If you're unsure whether your Amazon account has an advertising profile, log in at
advertising.amazon.comand check.
Start the connection
- Log in to your 1smart.link dashboard.
- Navigate to Dashboard → Ads (the URL is
/dashboard/ads/). - If this is your first time, you'll see a welcome screen with a prominent Connect Amazon Ads Account button. Click it.
If you've been here before and want to connect a different account, click the account switcher dropdown in the top bar (it shows your connected account name and marketplace flag), then select Connect another account at the bottom of the dropdown.
Authorise with Amazon
- Clicking the connect button redirects you to Amazon's Login with Amazon (LwA) OAuth page. This is a secure Amazon-hosted page — 1smart.link never sees your Amazon password.
- Log in using the credentials for your Amazon Advertising account. This is the email and password you use to access Amazon Seller Central or the Amazon Advertising console.
- Amazon displays a permissions screen listing what 1smart.link is requesting access to. Review the permissions and click Allow (or the equivalent approval button on Amazon's page).
- Amazon redirects you back to 1smart.link automatically.
Tip: If the OAuth page times out or you see an error, don't worry — your credentials have not been stored. Simply go back to step 3 and start the flow again. Tokens can expire mid-flow if there is a long delay between steps.
Choose your advertising profile
- After the redirect, an account picker modal appears on screen. This modal lists every Amazon advertising profile your account can access — one per marketplace. Each entry shows the profile name and marketplace (for example, "My Brand US — Amazon.com" or "My Store IN — Amazon.in").
- Select the profile you want to connect by clicking on it.
Note: Most users are limited to one connected seller profile at a time. If you try to connect a second profile, the system will block the attempt. Users with an admin or manager role can bypass this restriction. If you need multi-account access, contact support to discuss your options.
What happens behind the scenes
When you select a profile, two things happen simultaneously:
- Your account is saved. The selected profile and an encrypted OAuth refresh token are stored securely. You won't need to re-authorise unless you explicitly disconnect or revoke access from the Amazon side.
- Your data starts loading immediately. A background task fires automatically and fetches your advertising reports for the last 30 days. You do not need to wait for the next scheduled daily sync — data begins arriving within minutes.
Pending connections
If you close the account picker modal before selecting a profile (for example, if your browser crashes or you accidentally navigate away), your connection attempt is saved as a pending connection. This pending connection expires after one hour. If you come back within that window, you can resume from the account picker without re-authorising through Amazon. After one hour, you'll need to start the OAuth flow again.
The first-time waiting screen
After you confirm your profile selection, a waiting screen appears with four stages:
| Stage | What it means |
|---|---|
| OAuth | Authorisation is complete. You'll see a tick next to this stage immediately. |
| Generating Reports | 1smart.link has requested your advertising data from Amazon. Reports for the last 30 days are being compiled. |
| Processing | The raw data is being organised and prepared for the Ads Optimiser dashboard. |
| Ready | Your data is loaded. The page will reload automatically. |
The waiting screen polls for status updates every 30 seconds. You don't need to refresh manually — the page auto-reloads when everything is ready. The typical end-to-end wait is roughly four minutes, though this can vary depending on the size of your advertising account.
Tip: You can safely leave this page and come back later. Your data will continue loading in the background. When you return to the Ads dashboard, you'll see your data if processing has finished.
Switching or reconnecting accounts
To switch to a different Amazon Advertising account at any point:
- Click the account switcher dropdown in the top bar. It displays your connected account name alongside a marketplace flag.
- Select Connect another account at the bottom of the dropdown.
- Follow the OAuth flow again from step 4 above.
Remember that the one-account limit applies — connecting a new profile replaces your previous connection unless you have an admin or manager role.
Troubleshooting
"No profiles available" error
This means your Amazon Advertising account does not have any active advertising profiles. Log in to advertising.amazon.com directly and confirm that you have at least one profile set up with active campaigns or an active seller account linked to advertising.
OAuth fails or times out
If the Amazon authorisation page returns an error or the redirect back to 1smart.link fails, the most likely cause is a token expiring mid-flow. This can happen if you leave the Amazon login page open for a long time before completing it. Simply return to your 1smart.link dashboard and click Connect Amazon Ads Account again to restart.
One-account limit blocks your connection
If you see a message indicating you cannot connect another account, it means you already have a profile connected and your role does not permit multiple connections. You have two options:
- Disconnect your existing account first, then connect the new one.
- Contact 1smart.link support to discuss multi-account access if your business requires managing several profiles.
Still stuck? Reach out to support through the help widget in your dashboard or email the team directly. Include the email address you used for the Amazon OAuth flow and the marketplace you were trying to connect — this helps the team diagnose the issue faster.
