Using Contacts to capture and manage your leads

The Contacts area in 1smart.link gives you a simple, built-in way to capture and manage leads — no external form tools or integrations required. This guide walks you through how form submissions are saved automatically, how to add contacts by hand, how to organise them with tags, and how to export everything as a CSV file.

Note: Contacts is a paid-plan feature. It is not available on the free plan. You also need at least one bio page with a Smart Form widget to capture leads automatically.

Understand how Contacts works

Every time a visitor fills in a Smart Form on one of your bio pages, their details are saved straight into the Contacts tab in your dashboard. There is no need to connect a webhook, a spreadsheet, or a third-party form tool. Your leads simply appear in one place, ready for you to review, tag, and export.

Each contact record can hold:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Phone
  • Tags — labels you create to organise contacts into groups
  • Marketing consent — whether the visitor agreed to receive marketing
  • Structured address — street, city, state, postcode, and country
  • Extra fields — any additional fields your Smart Form collected

Find the Contacts tab

  1. Log in to your dashboard at www.1smart.link.
  2. Look at the left sidebar. You will see Contacts listed near Bio Pages.
  3. Click Contacts to open the full contact list.

This is where every captured and manually added contact lives.

Capture leads automatically with a Smart Form

If you have not set up a Smart Form yet, follow these steps to start capturing leads into Contacts.

  1. Open the bio page you want to add a form to (or create a new one).
  2. Add the Smart Form widget to your page.
  3. Open the Smart Form settings. Look for the Storage Mode option — this controls where form submissions are saved. By default, submissions are saved to Contacts. If you have also set up a webhook, submissions can be sent there too.
  4. If you want to collect marketing consent, turn on the consent toggle in the Smart Form settings. Add clear consent text so the visitor knows what they are agreeing to before they submit the form.
  5. Configure the form fields you need — for example, name, email, phone, or address fields.
  6. Publish your bio page.

From this point on, every visitor who submits the form will appear as a new contact in the Contacts tab. You do not need to check a separate inbox or connect any external tool.

Tip: If you are collecting personal data, always enable the consent toggle and write clear, honest consent text. This helps you stay transparent with your audience and builds trust.

Add a contact manually

Not every lead comes through a form. You might meet someone at an event, receive an enquiry by email, or want to add an existing customer. You can add contacts by hand at any time.

  1. Go to Contacts in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Add Contact button.
  3. Fill in the contact details — name, email, phone, address, and any other relevant fields.
  4. Add one or more tags if you want to organise this contact into a group (see below).
  5. Click Save.

The new contact now appears in your list alongside your form-captured leads.

Use tags to organise your contacts

Tags are simple labels you attach to contacts so you can group and filter them. For example, you might use tags like vip, wholesale-enquiry, or event-lead to separate different types of contacts.

  • When adding or editing a contact, look for the Tags field.
  • Type a tag name and add it. You can add multiple tags to a single contact.
  • Use tags to quickly filter your contact list and find the group you need.

Tip: Keep your tag names short and consistent. Decide on a naming style early — for example, always use lowercase with hyphens — so your list stays tidy as it grows.

Export your contacts as a CSV file

You can download your entire contact list as a CSV file at any time. This is useful for importing contacts into an email marketing tool, a spreadsheet, or any other system.

  1. Go to Contacts in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Export option (typically found near the top of the contact list).
  3. Your browser will download a CSV file containing all your contacts and their details — name, email, phone, tags, address, consent status, and any extra fields.

You can then open the file in any spreadsheet application or import it into another tool.

What happens next

Once your Smart Form is live and your bio page is published, leads flow into the Contacts tab automatically. You can review new submissions, tag them for easy filtering, add contacts by hand when needed, and export everything as a CSV whenever you want to use your data elsewhere.

There is no limit described on the number of contacts you can store, so your list grows with your business. Check back on the Contacts tab regularly to stay on top of new leads.
