WhatsApp Broadcasting: connect your AiSensy account and send broadcasts
WhatsApp Broadcasting lets you send WhatsApp template messages to your saved contacts directly from your 1smart.link dashboard. This guide walks you through connecting your AiSensy account, registering a campaign, and sending your first broadcast. WhatsApp Broadcasting is available on paid plans only.
Note: This feature uses a Bring Your Own Account model. You need an active AiSensy WhatsApp Business account before you begin. AiSensy bills you directly for all messages sent — 1smart.link does not charge any additional message fees.
Before you start
Make sure you have the following in place:
- A paid 1smart.link plan (WhatsApp Broadcasting is not available on the free tier).
- An AiSensy WhatsApp Business account with at least one approved campaign or message template.
- Contacts saved in 1smart.link who have given marketing consent.
If you do not yet have an AiSensy account, visit the AiSensy website to create one and get your first message template approved before continuing.
Understand the Bring Your Own Account model
Before diving into the steps, it helps to understand how the integration works.
1smart.link does not provide a WhatsApp Business account on your behalf. Instead, you connect your own AiSensy account, and 1smart.link sends broadcasts through it. This means:
- You stay in control. Your WhatsApp Business compliance, sender reputation, and account settings remain entirely yours.
- AiSensy bills you directly. Message costs are between you and AiSensy. 1smart.link does not add any per-message fees or impose message limits.
- Your connection is stored securely. 1smart.link keeps your AiSensy credentials safe and uses them only to send broadcasts you initiate.
Think of 1smart.link as the control panel and AiSensy as the delivery engine. You manage your audience and trigger sends from 1smart.link; AiSensy handles the actual WhatsApp delivery.
Step 1: Connect your AiSensy account
- Log in to your 1smart.link dashboard at
www.1smart.link. - Navigate to the WhatsApp area of your dashboard.
- Look for the option to connect your AiSensy account. Click Connect (or the equivalent connect button).
- Enter your AiSensy account credentials or API details when prompted.
- Click Save to confirm the connection.
Once saved, 1smart.link will verify the connection with AiSensy. You should see a confirmation that your account is linked successfully.
Tip: If the connection fails, double-check that your AiSensy account is active and that you have entered the correct credentials. Ensure there are no typos in your API key or account details.
Step 2: Register your AiSensy campaign
An AiSensy campaign wraps a WhatsApp-approved message template — it defines exactly what your broadcast message will say. You need to register the campaign inside 1smart.link so it appears as a sendable message.
- In the WhatsApp area of your dashboard, find the section for managing campaigns.
- Click Register Campaign (or the equivalent option).
- Select the AiSensy campaign you want to use. This list is pulled from your AiSensy account, so only campaigns with approved templates will appear.
- Confirm your selection and save.
You can register multiple campaigns if you have several approved templates in AiSensy. Each registered campaign becomes available as a message option when you send a broadcast.
Note: Only WhatsApp-approved message templates can be used for broadcasts. If you do not see a campaign listed, check your AiSensy account to confirm the template has been approved by WhatsApp.
Step 3: Choose your audience and send the broadcast
With your account connected and at least one campaign registered, you are ready to send.
- In the WhatsApp area, look for the option to create or send a broadcast.
- Select the registered campaign (message template) you want to send.
- Choose the contacts you want to reach. You can select individual contacts or a group from your saved contacts in 1smart.link.
- Review your selection and click Send (or Send Broadcast).
The broadcast will be dispatched through your AiSensy account to the selected contacts.
Warning: Messages are only sent to contacts who have given marketing consent. If a contact has not opted in, they will be automatically excluded from the broadcast. This protects you from compliance issues and ensures you respect your audience's preferences.
What happens next
After you send the broadcast:
- AiSensy delivers the WhatsApp messages on your behalf.
- AiSensy bills you directly for the messages sent, according to your AiSensy plan and WhatsApp's conversation pricing.
- You can return to the WhatsApp area in your 1smart.link dashboard to manage future broadcasts, register additional campaigns, or connect a different AiSensy account if needed.
Troubleshooting
Connection fails when linking AiSensy
Make sure your AiSensy account is active and in good standing. Re-enter your credentials carefully, checking for extra spaces or incorrect characters. If the problem persists, log in to AiSensy separately to confirm your account is accessible.
No campaigns appear when registering
Your AiSensy account may not have any approved message templates. Log in to AiSensy and check that at least one campaign has a WhatsApp-approved template. Newly submitted templates may still be awaiting approval.
Some contacts did not receive the broadcast
Only contacts with marketing consent are included in a broadcast. If a contact was skipped, they have not opted in. Check the contact's consent status in your 1smart.link contacts list. Never add contacts to a broadcast without their explicit consent.
