Using page templates to launch faster

Templates let you skip the blank-canvas stage and launch a fully designed bio page in seconds. Instead of choosing colours, arranging widgets, and building a layout from scratch, you pick a pre-designed starting point and swap in your own content. This guide walks you through browsing the template library, creating a bio page from a template, saving your own templates, and sharing them with others.

Note: You need a free 1smart.link account to use templates. Sign up at www.1smart.link if you haven't already. Templates are available to all account tiers.

Browse the template library

  1. Log in to your dashboard at www.1smart.link.
  2. Navigate to Templates in the left sidebar, or go directly to /dashboard/templates.
  3. You will see a grid of template cards. Each card displays a phone-mockup preview (roughly 300 × 580 px) so you can see how the finished page looks on a mobile device.
  4. Scroll through the library or use the category filters to narrow your view.

The library contains 28 system templates organised into three categories, plus any templates you have saved yourself.

Packaging insert templates (6)

These are designed for physical product sellers who include a card or QR code in their packaging. Each template is pre-built with widgets suited to a specific post-purchase goal.

Built for local businesses, service providers, and Amazon sellers. Examples include South Indian Restaurant, Digital Business Card, salon and barbershop variants, bridal studio, and the Amazon Launch Bridge template (#28).

Tip: The Amazon Launch Bridge is a specialised 21-widget template designed for Amazon India sellers running external traffic campaigns. It addresses the Enhanced In-Region Product Discoverability challenge where buyers outside your FBA zone may struggle to find your product. See Article #37 for a detailed walkthrough.

Create a bio page from a template

  1. From the template library at /dashboard/templates, click on any template card to open a full preview.
  2. Review the layout, widget arrangement, and colour scheme in the preview.
  3. Click Use this template.
  4. 1smart.link creates a new bio page in your account, pre-populated with the template's design, widgets, and sample content.
  5. You are taken to the BioLink Builder, where you can customise everything — update text, swap out the hero image, edit widget fields, change colours, and rearrange sections.
  6. When you are happy with the page, click Publish.

Your new bio page is now live. The template gave you the structure; you simply filled in the details.

Save your own design as a template

Once you have built a bio page you are proud of, you can save it as a reusable template so you can replicate the same design for future pages — or share it with others.

  1. Open the bio page you want to save in the BioLink Builder.
  2. Click Save as Template in the header toolbar.
  3. Enter a name, description, and category for the template.
  4. Click Save.

Your template now appears in the template library alongside the 28 system templates. It is labelled as a personal template so you can tell it apart from system ones.

Tip: This is especially useful if you manage multiple brands or clients. Design one polished layout, save it as a template, and spin up new pages in seconds.

Share a template with others

You can share any template you have saved so that colleagues, clients, or community members can import it into their own 1smart.link accounts.

  1. Open the template library at /dashboard/templates.
  2. Find the template you want to share and open it.
  3. Click Share to generate a unique share code.
  4. 1smart.link produces a public URL in the format 1smart.link/template/{code}.
  5. Send that URL to anyone you like.

When someone visits your shared template URL, they see a branded preview of the page along with a sign-up call-to-action. If they are already logged in to 1smart.link, they can click Import to copy the template directly into their own account.

Import a shared template via URL

If someone has shared a template code with you, there are two ways to import it:

  • Option A: Visit the shared URL (e.g. 1smart.link/template/{code}) and click Import from the preview page.
  • Option B: Go directly to www.1smart.link/dashboard/templates?import={CODE} — replace {CODE} with the actual share code. The import modal opens automatically, and you can add the template to your library with one click.

Once imported, the template appears in your personal template list. You can then use it to create new bio pages, just as you would with any system template.

What happens next

After you create a bio page from a template, it behaves exactly like any other bio page in your account. You have full control to:

  • Edit any widget, text block, image, or colour.
  • Add new widgets or remove ones you do not need.
  • Connect a custom domain or short link.
  • Add retargeting pixels and track click analytics.

The template is just a starting point — your published page is entirely independent of it. Changes you make to the page do not affect the original template, and changes to the template do not affect pages already created from it.

Troubleshooting

Template preview does not load

Make sure you are logged in and have a stable internet connection. Try refreshing the page. If the preview still fails to appear, clear your browser cache and try again.

Imported template is missing from my library

After importing via a shared URL, navigate to /dashboard/templates and check your personal templates section. If it does not appear, try the direct import URL method: www.1smart.link/dashboard/templates?import={CODE}. Ensure the share code is correct — codes are case-sensitive.

Widgets show sample content after publishing

This is expected. Templates include placeholder text and images so you can see the intended layout. Before publishing, step through each widget in the BioLink Builder and replace the sample content with your own text, images, and links.
